From September 9 - 11, 2007, the Partnership for America’s Economic Success and the Telluride Foundation hosted the Telluride Economic Summit on Early Childhood Investment. The invitation-only Summit of 125 business, finance, and policy leaders was a “Davos” forum on building human capital through research-based investments in early childhood. Attendees included Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer, Coloroado Governor Bill Ritter, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, and Colorado Lieutenant Governor Barbara O’Brien. Conference attendees reviewed new evidence of proven investments in young children and proposed principles to guide the process of improving American youth human capital development.
